Privacy Terms & GDPR Compliance
At Hotel TV Company we value our customers’ right to privacy and personal choice. Therefore, with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that came into effect on May 25, 2018, we have made a number of changes to our privacy policy to ensure our customers are aware and in control of the personal data we store and process.
What is GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU. The GDPR aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU.

How we have prepared?
To ensure that we are compliant with the new GDPR regulations, we, at Hotel TV Company, have increased our efforts towards better security and transparency in our ways of data collection. Some of our initiatives ensure:
- Right to Control Your Data – as a business-to-business technology provider, we identify, collect and store data about business customers with their explicit consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent to our data processing at any time
- Right to Access Your Data – the data we store consists of, but is not limited to, your first and last name, work email address, work phone number, company name and address. You have the right to request a copy of your personal information we have about you
- Opt-in consent – we provide a more transparent and clear way to obtain consent for our marketing communications, hence, we will not add you to any of our mailing lists without your permission. If you wish to receive our monthly updates, you have the choice to opt-in to our marketing lists at any time by subscribing on our website or emailing us on marketing@hoteltvcompany.co.uk
How we collect your data?
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Registration and Support Request Form
Your data is collected from our customer portal website (www.hoteltvcompany.co.uk/support/) by registering an account or filling in our support request form. This portal is strictly built for Hotel TV Company customers with an active maintenance contract. Access is restricted to logged in user only and all registration need to be approved prior to being granted access. Therefore, we do not collect any additional information about you than the information we have already collected when processing your order/maintenance agreement.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded content
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
How we store your data?
All data that Hotel TV company stores and uses for its promotional marketing and communication is stored and processed within our Zoho CRM database. Some marketing data segments are transferred from Zoho CRM to Mailchimp for the sole purpose of targeted email marketing. Data is not passed onto any third party companies with the exception of Zoho CRM, where we store your data, Mailchimp, where we undergo our email marketing, and KashFlow, where we process payments. Any data lists that may be stored locally are encrypted.
How we process your data?
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices. We make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. We have ensured that Zoho CRM and Mailchimp are GDPR Compliant prior to adding any customer data on these platforms (see External Links below).
How can you access your data?
The business data that we collect and store on our Zoho CRM platform consists of, but is not limited to:
- Your first and last name
- Your workplace email address
- Your workplace phone number
- Company name and address
You can request to access the information that we store about you by emailing us on support@hoteltvcompany.co.uk, by calling us on 0844 870 7897 or by filling in our contact form online (https://www.hoteltvcompany.co.uk/contact/).
Our team will, then, provide you with all the information that we hold of you and you can decide whether you wish this information to be updated or deleted. You can opt-out of our promotional database at any time by clicking ‘Unsubscribe’ at the bottom of our promotional emails, sending an e-mail to support@hoteltvcompany.co.uk with your request to unsubscribe or mailing us at:
